MBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours List
I’m thrilled about my MBE for Services to the Arts and People with Disabilities in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. I was surprised and delighted to to get the news. It is so great to be recognised as both an artist and a campaigner. And to be on the list with so many wonderful, talented people.
I’m looking forward to celebrating this evening, because I still have work to do today. I’m rehearsing a great new play Jellyfish by Ben Weatherill at the Bush Theatre.
I am lucky that I get a chance to do things I love. My family and friends help me a lot. Most of all my mum. She is amazing and with me a rehearsals today.
Thank you for all the messages of congratulations. So many emails and tweets and a lovely article by Theatre News.
